Alicia McFarren, M.D.

Dr. McFarren is a board certified pediatrician who enjoys all the aspects of caring for children from birth through adolescence. She enjoys working up a complex medical cases as well as offering general guidance on raising a healthy child.

Born and raised in upstate NY, she completed all of her schooling and medical training on the East Coast. She began by earning a Bachelors of Science at Cornell University where she focused her studies on nutrition.  She attended New York Medical College and went on to complete a residency in Pediatrics at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Her love of learning and medical complexity drove her to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at Montefiore Children’s Hospital in New York City and a second fellowship in Blood and Marrow Transplantation at Duke University. In 2014 she became a faculty member at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and took care of children with relapsed cancers and other various blood and metabolic disorders. She was on a quest to help figure out ways to treat cancer using the immune system. In this role she was named a “top doctor” by Pasadena Magazine in 2016.

In late 2015 she became a mother to a beautiful baby girl and her world turned upside down.  Being a good mom became the priority and the tug at her heart when her patients passed away became too much to bear. Her love of medicine and children prevailed and she found PAMG, a place where she could continue doing what she loves and be emotionally available to her family.

When not working she enjoys sailing and skiing with her family, as well as preaching the benefits of vaccination to anyone who will listen.
